Tinned Copper-clad Steel Wire
Tin-plated copper-clad steel wire is a composite wire made of high-strength steel wire as the core material, coated with a copper layer on the outer layer and then tin plated. It combines the mechanical strength of steel, the conductivity of copper, and the corrosion resistance and weldability of tin, and is a core material in high-end electronics, marine engineering, and special industrial fields.
Core Features
High strength: The tensile strength of the steel core is 800~2000 MPa, which is 3~6 times that of pure copper wire.
Conductivity: The conductivity of the copper layer is ≥ 50% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), and the tin plating layer further optimizes high-frequency signal transmission.
Corrosion resistance: The tin layer isolates copper from contact with oxygen and sulfides, and has a salt spray resistance life of ≥ 20 years (in marine environments).
Weldability: Tin melting point is 232 ° C, with excellent compatibility with solder and a 30% increase in welding efficiency.
Manufacturing Process
The production process of tinned copper-clad steel wire includes steel core treatment → copper coating → tin plating → post-treatment, with the following steps:
Pre-treatment of Steel CoreAcid washing (10% H ₂ SO ₄ to remove oxide skin) → electrolytic degreasing (alkaline solution) → activation (fluoroboric acid).
Electroplated CopperPlating solution: 200g/L copper sulfate+50g/L sulfuric acid, current density of 3 A/dm ², copper layer thickness of 10-50 μ m.
Electroplated Tin PlatingPlating solution: 100g/L tin methylsulfonate+additives (brightener, stabilizer), current density of 1.5 A/dm ², tin layer thickness of 5-20 μ m.
Post ProcessingPassivation (chromate solution) → wax lubrication → winding.
