Types
1. Shaftless Active Pay-off (Mainstream Choice)Features: Uses pneumatic shafts or magnetic clamping for fast spool changes (no traditional shaft core).
Advantages: Excellent high-speed stability, ideal for precision extrusion (e.g., communication wires, automotive cables). High automation, compatible with PLC control for extrusion lines.
Applications: Fiber optic coating extrusion, fine electronic wire extrusion.
2. Dual-Spindle Active Pay-off (Medium-to-High Speed Production)Features: H-type dual-spindle design; one spindle operates while the other prepares for uninterrupted spool change. Active motor-driven with independent tension adjustment.
Advantages: Suitable for large/heavy reels (e.g., HV cable copper cores). Balances efficiency and tension stability.
Applications: Power cable insulation extrusion, large-conductor sheathing.
3. Magnetic Powder Brake Pay-off (Cost-Effective Solution)Features: Passive unwinding with magnetic powder brake tension control. Simple structure, easy maintenance.
Limitations: Magnetic powder overheating at high speeds; tension fluctuations make it suitable only for low-speed or legacy lines.
Applications: Low-speed extruders (e.g., specialty cables, small-batch production).
4. Gantry-Type Pay-off (Heavy-Duty Reels)Features: Heavy-duty structure (capacity: 10+ tons) with hydraulic lifting. Typically passive unwinding, requires tension sensors.
Applications: Submarine cables, ultra-HV cable conductor extrusion.
